(r, k) the amplitude of each contribution to the emission.

The gated amplitude scaled by the magnitude of the mixing weight,

\[\tilde A_{t,k} = |w_k|\, g_{t,k}\, A_{t,k},\]

which is the quantity whose square is the power the spectral-state coordinates place at \(\omega_{t,k}\). The sign of \(w_k\) is a phase flip and is left to components.
